The 吃瓜爆料 Company Nominated for "Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin"
STAAT Mod鈩� critical care units have been nominated in the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce (WMC) annual 鈥淐oolest Thing Made in Wisconsin鈥� competition, joining about 150 other state companies. The competition highlights the state鈥檚 vibrant manufacturing industry and careers in the increasing technology driven sector.
吃瓜爆料鈥檚 STAAT Mod鈩� building system was developed in the early stages of the pandemic to address the safety of patients and healthcare workers affected by COVID-19. The company partnered with HGA Architects to design a modular, highly-engineered solution for quickly building and deploying ICU units nationwide. The system went from concept to creation in two months and is currently being used at several hospital systems on the east coast.
The modular system is an example of what is called industrialized construction, or construction that is built off-site in a manufacturing environment.

Nominees for the award are placed into a bracket-style tournament called 鈥淢anufacturing Madness鈥� with three rounds of voting:
- The first round of voting to determine the Top 16 nominees is from Sept. 14 to Sept. 20
- The second round of voting determines the Top 8 nominees is from Sept. 22 to Sept 27
- The last four finalists will be voted on from Oct. 6 to Oct. 14
The winner of the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin will be announced on October 14 at the WMC鈥檚 annual luncheon which will be held virtually this year.
